It is hard to rate a monastery on a system of stars... All I can say is, when I reached out to Father Stephen for assistance, after getting a recommendation from my friends, he was very accommodating and willing to help. Upon our visit, my wife and I were made to feel very welcome. The monastery grounds are beautiful and the feeling you get from visiting is very positive. This monastery is a very special place, and we will certainly be coming back.

I grew up just a few miles away in Hayward and was very pleasantly surprised to find an Orthodox Monastery just down the road in Castro Valley. Holy Cross Orthodox Monastery is a true spiritual oasis. My family and I attended the Divine Liturgy with the Fathers and were made to feel most welcome. We also were invited to join them in one of the best Agape meals I have ever had! May God grant the Fathers and Monks of Holy Cross Orthodox Monastery many years!
